WGSS 29903 - Men and MasculinityCourse Credit: 1 (SOCI) MEN AND MASCULINITY: This course explores the roles of men and masculinity in a wide variety of cultural contexts. We will investigate theories of masculinity from an interdisciplinary and transnational perspective and analyze the discussion and representation of men and masculinity in the form of historical and contemporary depictions. We will ask: How do we define what it is to be a man in the United States and elsewhere? Is masculinity natural or socially constructed, imaginary or real, flexible or rigid? And what are the implications of these definitions for society?
