WORLD CITIES: This course introduces students from a variety of disciplines to some of the major citiesand urban areas in the developing and developed countries. We review how and why they developed, what makes them unique and worth investigating, what their physical and non-physical characteristics are, what it might be like to live there, and what issues they may face in achieving a sustainable, global, resilient, creative, and smart future. We read papers, watch videos, listen to native guest lecturers, share the latest news, explore maps, tell stories, and discover world cities. Annually [GE, HSS]
