SOUTH ASIAN POLITICS: From Bollywood to the British Empire: This comparative politics seminar provides a survey of major political developments, issues and policies in countries throughout South Asia. The course will provide an introduction to the post-colonial history and politics, art and culture of the subcontinent, and touch on issues of identity, particularly ethnicity and gender. We also look at foreign policy issues between Afghanistan, India and Pakistan. No prior knowledge of South Asia or comparative politics is required for this course. [HSS]
