CHIN 30300 - Love and Romance in Global ChinaCourse Credit: 1 Maximum Credit: 0 (EAST, WGSS) This course focuses on how love, romance, and sexuality are expressed in different genres, media, and narrative forms in Chinese languages. Romance is one of the most popular and financially successful genres in literature, dance, arts, film, television, digital media, and popular culture. Its readers and audiences range in age, gender, sexuality, and social class. This course will examine different forms of love and romance with careful attention paid to how issues of gender, sexuality, and romantic love have evolved over time and for different audiences and forms in global China.
