HIST 11000 - Rethinking Early AmericaCourse Credit: 1 Maximum Credit: 0 This introductory course examines the invention of America. It will trace the trajectories of indigeneity, environmental transformations, settler colonialism, capitalism, slavery, race, gender, sexuality, class, immigration, and notions of freedom, equality, and human rights-topics that continue to have relevance today. We will look carefully at objects, people, and broad geographical contexts, as a way to come to a fuller understanding of local, national, and global historical change.? [Pre-1800] Annually.
