This course is designed to help students examine curriculum and instruction in the areas of math, science, health, safety, and nutrition in the early childhood years. Topics include: developmentally appropriate practice; content area reading; content specific teaching and assessment strategies; the role of family and community; differentiation; instructional technology; ESL/ELL learners; and collaborative and cooperative learning. A 50-hour supervised field placement in a content-specific early childhood setting is required. Prerequisite(s): EDUC-10000 Annually. [QL]
