Content focuses on functional groups, reaction mechanisms, spectroscopic techniques, data interpretation, and introductory synthetic methods. Critical thinking, application of general concepts to new examples, and problem-solving skills are emphasized. Laboratory experiments incorporate key synthetic organic laboratory skills, reactions, techniques, and instrumentation.
