BIOL 36600 - ImmunologyCourse Credit: 1 Maximum Credit: 0 (B&MB) This course will investigate concepts in immunology from a physiological and molecular perspective. Topics to be covered include the lymphatic system and the lymphoid organs, immune cell development and function, antibody structure and function, specific and nonspecific response to infections, allergy, hypersensitivity and other immunological disorders, transplantation immunology, vaccination, and immunological applications in biotechnology. Laboratory exercises will focus on basic immunological techniques such as antibody-antigen interactions, antibody production, and cellular response to infection. Prerequisite(s): CHEM-11200 and BIOL-20100, minimum grade C- Annually.
