Environment and Society To understand the complexity of humankind’s interaction with the environment requires grasping the basic social, cultural, economic, and political forces that condition our relationship with and impact on the natural world. This course provides an introduction to core principles and concepts in the interdisciplinary field of environmental studies. The goal of the course is to help you develop the critical thinking skills and theoretical background to analyze and evaluate complex evidence, arguments, and competing claims about the environment and society.
