RUSSIAN CIVILIZATION An introductory and interdisciplinary study of Russian culture from folktales and medieval chronicles to Romantic novels, absurdist stories and contemporary art movements. We will examine a broad range of writers, artists and composers including Pushkin, Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, Solzhenitsyn, Stravinsky, Borodin and Pussy Riot, among others.The course is open to students at all levels, knowledge of Russian is not required.
