FREN 31000 - French TheatreCourse Credit: 1 FRENCH THEATER This course explores the evolution of French theater from the seventeenth century to the present through the study of works by major playwrights, including Corneille, Molière, Racine, Marivaux, Beaumarchais, Rostand, Jarry, Sartre, Beckett and Reza. Attention will be paid to dramatic theory and to the historical and cultural contexts in which plays were produced. Prerequisite(s): FREN-22000 or FREN-22400 [AH, C]
