GMDS 21000 - Global Media

GLOBAL MEDIA This course explores the phenomenon of global media, specifically the wide range of activities associated with the dense transnational networks of media (such as news, entertainment, propaganda, and publicity), as well as the technical infrastructures that make it possible and commonplace to distribute messages and texts across vast distances with little or no delay. The class’s perspective is both historical and comparative. Prerequisite(s): GMDS-11000, GMDS-12000, GMDS-13000, GMDS-14000, or COMM-11100 or permission of instructor. [AH]
