PHYSICAL CHEMISTRY I Chemical thermodynamics and kinetics. Topics include chemical kinetics, rate laws, laws of thermodynamics, free energy and chemical equilibrium. Additional topics may include chemical dynamic models, X-ray diffraction, solid-state structure, and structure determination. Three class hours and one three-hour laboratory per week.
