EDUC 30000 - Teaching Diverse PopulationsCourse Credit: 1 ISSUES IN EDUCATION: TEACHING DIVERSE POPULATIONS This course examines topics relevant to teachers preparing to teach grades 7-12. Topics include: classroom management; effective professional relationships; roles and responsibilities of various school personnel; collaborative teaching and learning; differentiated instruction; teaching students with disabilities; ESL/ELL learners; content area reading; multicultural education; legal and ethical implications of teaching; school finance; educational technology; professionalism; standards and accountability; and school reform. Guest speakers from local schools and focused observations are integral to the course. Prerequisite(s): EDUC-10000, EDUC-25100, or MUSC-29000 Annually. Fall.
