BIOL 12000 - Introduction to Physiology and Organismal Biology

Course Credit: 1
Maximum Credit: 0
In this course, we will delve into the fascinating and integrative world of organismal physiology. We will approach this with multiple overarching themese in mind, including asking questions about how animals work, and why their physiological systems evolved to work the way that they do; understanding differences between regulation and conformity; and analyzing the importance of structure/function relationships. In doing so, we will focus on a variety of levels of organization, including molecular, cellular, tissues, organs, organ systems, and whole organisms, with a special focus on how these levels integrate to allow organisms to function optimally in their environments.
