BIOL 21000 - Natural History of the Vertebrates

This course covers the major lineages of extinct and extant vertebrates. Emphasis in lecture is on ecology, behavior, conservation and the evolutionary history of each clade. The laboratory component has two foci: field based experiences (accommodated through numerous field trips) and identification. Students will learn to identify many common vertebrates of Ohio by sight and sound. Three classroom meetings and one laboratory period weekly. Prerequisite(s): BIOL-20200, minimum grade C-; BIOL-21000L Annually.
