PSYC 29907 - Psychology and LawCourse Credit: 1 This class is a survey of the major topics represented in the field of Psychology and Law. The class will focus on how psychological research can contribute to a better understanding of issues related to law and legal processes. Topics include adult and child eyewitness testimony, jury decision making; interrogation and confessions, and the determination of insanity and competence. Goals: Students will become familiar with the major topics represented in the field of psychology and law. We will focus on how psychological research can contribute to a better understanding of legal issues and how the legal system can be informed by the results of psychological research. Prerequisite(s): PSYC 10000 [HSS]
