A comparative study of Britain and Europe from the mid-eighteenth through the end of the nineteenth centuries. Topics covered include the origins of the Industrial Revolution in England and its expansion in Britain and Western Europe, technological expansion, the transformation of rural and urban communities, workplace organizations, the division of labor, popular protest and trade unionism.
