HIST 10186 - From Protest to Politics: Black, Struggles Since 1965Course Credit: 1 From the early stirrings of black protests in the 1940s to contemporary reverberations of coalitions politics that contributed to the election of this nation’s first black President, this course examines the shift “from protest to politics.” To do this, students will examine the nexus between urban and suburban politics, focusing on housing, jobs, education, and prisons, as well as write short essays on the scholarship and draft their own research papers as a final project.
