ISRAEL/PALESTINE: HISTORIES IN CONFLICT: The history of the current conflict from the late 19th century down to the immediate present. Emphasis will be on understanding Israeli and Palestinian national identities; the parties’ incompatible interpretations of history and their role in perpetuating the conflict; and the specific terms of a possible solution to the conflict.
