BAROQUE ART, 1600-1700: The course will explore the art and architecture of the Baroque era, primarily in Italy, Spain, Flanders, and Holland. This includes such masters as Caravaggio, Bernini, Velázquez, Rubens, Rembrandt, and Vermeer. The works will be studied in the context of the social, political, and religious milieu of the Baroque period, an era of dynamic change and violent conflicts.
