PEOPLES AND CULTURES: LATIN AMERICA: The immense landscape we know as Latin America spans two continents and includes a sub-continental isthmus and several islands. It was inhabited for thousands of years by a myriad of culturally and linguistically diverse communities. This class considers Latin America through time. The scope is broad, encompassing cultural diversity, political geography, colonialism, political struggle, migration, globalization, and the importance of race, class, gender, sexuality, and ethnicity. Prerequisite(s): Take ANTH-11000 or permission of instructor Alternate Years [HSS]
