CONTENT AREA READING In this course students consider and examine the research and reading strategies used when teaching content in grades 7-12. Emphasis is placed on the following topics: diversity of learners; needs of struggling readers; developing effective strategies; reflection; ESL/ELL learners; instructional technology; differentiation; assessment; and cooperative and collaborative learning. Students observe teachers using content area reading teaching strategies. Prerequisite(s): Take EDUC-10000 Annually.
