MEDIATED GENDER, RACE, AND SEXUALITY This course will examine and evaluate the construction and representation of gender, race, and sexuality in contemporary American society; the relationship between commercialized systems of representation; and the way that gender, race, and sexuality are thought of and organized in the culture. In particular, we will look at how visual imagery impacts gender, racial, and sexual identity, and the process of identity construction and socialization.
