ECONOMIC TOPICS IN ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE Environmental injustice occurs when certain groups bear a disproportionate share of negative environmental consequences. This course examines the economics literature to shed light on various aspects of environmental injustice including sources of injustice, relevant government incentives and policies, and behavior of polluting firms. We will also examine environmental justice in urban planning such as the topic of environmental gentrification. The course will develop the theoretical framework used in economic analysis of environmental injustice and then examine empirical evidence using a variety of case studies. Prerequisite(s): ECON-10100; or permission of instructor
