JUNIOR INDEPENDENT STUDY A seminar designed to help students further develop their ability to do independent research in philosophy and to write a philosophical thesis. In order to achieve this goal, the course will require students to examine questions about the nature and methodology of philosophy, engage in research using philosophical journals and electronic data bases, deliver oral presentations, participate in peer review of others’ writing, and plan and write a philosophical paper.
