ECON 25100 - Global Exchange and International Trade

Course Credit: 1
(GLIS)
GLOBAL EXCHANGE AND INTERNATIONAL TRADE  This course develops critical, reflective, and theoretical tools to understand the impact of exchange and international trade historically and in its contemporary manifestations. Students will derive theoretical economic models to show the impact of international trade is mixed and multifaceted. The class uses reflective interludes, stepping-back from rigorous theoretical derivations to contemplate the limits of economic insight. As we start to understand trade historically and from other perspectives, students will see where economic frameworks are useful and limited. Students will be asked to engage with the contemporary global discourse on trade. Prerequisite(s): ECON-10100 Alternate Years, fall. [GE, HSS]
