COMM 35200 - Rhetorical Criticism

RHETORICAL CRITICISM This course examines the nature and methods of rhetorical criticism, with the goal of teaching students how to write rhetorical criticisms of their own and how to critique the work of others. Topics include Neo-Aristotelian criticism, narrative criticism, Burkean criticism, generic criticism, cultural (metaphor, value, myth, fantasy theme) analysis, and ideological (feminist, Neo-Marxist, and deconstructionist) criticism. Prerequisite(s): COMM-11100, Minimum grade C-; or permission of instructor Annually.
