Marching, Symphonic, Concert, Pipe Bands A group of performing ensembles with emphases are on several aspects of wind and percussion performance. The marching band requires no audition and functions in the fall semester only with an emphasis on the latest techniques and best quality of appropriate music being prepared and performed. The Symphonic Band is a spring semester auditioned student ensemble, which studies and performs the best in band literature from all periods for performance on campus and on an annual spring tour. The Wooster Concert Band is a non-auditioned group available in both semesters for students and community members; the ensemble studies and performs excellent band literature from all periods, gives one performance each semester, and serves as a laboratory group for music education and conducting students. Two semesters of enrollment in Wooster Concert Band are required for all B.M.E. students. The Scottish Pipe Band and Highland Dancers perform with the Marching and Symphonic Bands, including fall football games and the spring tour. May be repeated. Annually. Fall and Spring.
