INDIGENOUS FILM The course explores how indigenous cultures throughout the world have combined ritual, myth, oral literature, art, music, and dance with contemporary film. It will focus primarily on the films that have recently emerged from indigenous cultures of North, Central, and South America, Northern Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Oceania and how they have created a culturally specific indigenous film genre, free from colonial domination.
