PHIL 31003 - Marx’s Das CapitalCourse Credit: 1 KARL MARX CAPITAL This class consists in a philosophical reading of Marx’s classic work Capital: A Critique of Political Economy. Our principle aim will be to try to understand Marx’s text on its own terms, and mainly as a philosophical work about political economy. We will also try to understand its relevance for today, and of course assess it critically as a piece of philosophical thinking. This course does not presuppose any previous classes in politics or economics. Prerequisite: A minimum of two Philosophy courses or consent of the instructor. Prerequisite(s): Minimum of 2 Philosophy courses [AH]
