Topics include: mass politics and their discontents, modernism in the arts, new theories of society and personality, European imperialism, the second industrial revolution and the rise of socialist parties, feminism, the First World War, the Russian Revolution, the Versailles Treaty, the rise of fascism, Stalin’s Russia, the Depression, the Spanish Civil War, the Nazi threat to Europe, the Second World War, and the Holocaust.
