PHIL 26100 - Themes in Continental Philosophy

This course is meant to give an introduction to major figures and schools of thought within continental philosophy (e.g., phenomenology, hermeneutics, critical theory, post-structuralism, and post-Marxism). The course engages the basic themes, questions, and theoretical frameworks of challenging and provocative philosophers, such as Martin Heidegger, Hans-Georg Gadamer, Herbert Marcuse, Michel Foucault, Jürgen Habermas, and Chantal Mouffe.
