HIST 20700 - Renaissance & Reformation Europe, 1350-1650

Examines the great intellectual and religious events of the fourteenth to the seventeenth centuries within their political and social contexts. In particular, the course will examine how the “new thought” of these centuries provided Europe with a new intellectual language for describing and evaluating the growth of absolutism and the conquest of the Americas.
