HIST 20102 - History of Education in the U.S.

This course is an interdisciplinary examination ofthe history of schools and schooling in America, from the colonial period to the present. Of particular importance is the emergence and evolution of public schooling at the primary and secondary levels during the nineteenth century. Students will also explore the diverse educational experiences of various groups such as immigrants, Native Americans, African Americans, and women throughout American history.
